Challenges we faced
Some challenges that our group faced include identifying a scope of the problem, paired with trying to come up with a solution that was effective. For example, if we made the scope too wide, it would be hard to manage and organize the forums. In addition, we had problems figuring out how to code on WiX.
Overcoming challenges
Eventually through lots of discussion and scrapping plans, we finally came up with an idea that our group thought we could implement. We eventually decided to use coding in our data visualizations rather than on the website itself. Although we haven't come up with the "perfect" solution to disaster relief, we hope that our solution can make a positive impact on communities.
Limitations of our solution
Our first limitation is the fact that not everyone may have internet access when a disaster strikes. This means that they may not even be able to use our website when they need help. We are also working on the user interface, as we realize that it could be more organized. Finally, the website cannot be effective unless several people join the forum.
Covering our limitations
Hopefully in the future, we can spread the word about our site so we can help people and make an impact. In terms of user interface, we can continue to get feedback on it and make it more intuitive.
